It is a certificate course of 3 months duration run by the college, under the supervision of Add-On Course Committee. Any 10th pass student is eligible to join the course.Being an isolated district of the country, people do not have opportunities interact with non- Khasis speakers in Hindi. More than 80% of students come from schools with no Hindi subject. Whenever students are go on study tours and exposure trips to the other parts of India, they find it difficult to interact with others in a common language. The Central Government’s now trying hard to popularize this language keeping in view the provisions of a national language as enshrined in the Constitution of India. Working in different environments in future would be an obstacle if the students are not familiarized in this language and so the need for teaching spoken Hindi is urgently felt.
